I was recently asked, “How do I control the image that shows up when I share a page or post from my website across social media?”
If you are using a WordPress powered Website, the answer is a very simple one: The image that shows up on your Facebook post or pretty much any other social media platform is your WordPress Page’s or Post’s “Featured image”.
You can easily ad or remove a Featured image to your Page or Post within the Featured image section of your editor located on the right hand side of your screen when using a desktop computer. It is easy on a mobile phone too, but you have to click on the ‘gear’ while editing a page of post to see the Featured image section.
Here’s where the Featured image is located in my Chrome browser while using a Windows 10 laptop:
